Planetarium

Fifth grade students participate in Planetarium field trips to one of the eight planetariums offered in county schools as part of the science curriculum. The planetarium lessons concentrate on concepts related to the position and motion of celestial objects. These are concepts that are particularly difficult to teach in a traditional classroom environment. The astronomy units also include lessons that classroom teachers and planetarium teachers can present in the classroom both before and after the planetarium field trips.
