The Intent: To make Better use of Facilities that Support the Military.

  • Can the job be done more effectively by consolidation of facilities? 

     


    The 2005 BRAC Law includes the transfer of over 22,000 Department of Defense jobs to Fort Belvoir by September 15, 2011.
     


    Where are these people coming from?

    2,100 additional jobs to the New Hospital after Walter Reed closes

     

     


     

     Additional Employment Projections:

     

    • 900 new professional/administrative service jobs outside the base;
    • New Construction employees totaling 50,000 are projected to work at Ft Belvoir and Quantico facilities between now and 2011.
